Kinnock and Friendly Mischief Making
The latest episode of the current furore over the Government's White Paper on Education , reminds me of a conversation I had with Lord Kinnock I had at the 2003 Labour Party Conference.
I asked him what he would do when he finished his time in Europe and he replied that he would spend time with his grandchildren and indulging in his hobbies of watching opera and rugby, before adding with a twinkle in his eye that he would cause the odd bit of friendly mischief.
Is this the odd bit of friendly mischief I wonder! It strikes me that he is not speaking so much against the government as articulating concerns that merit further discussion. Anyway, lets just wait and see what happens.
