The Nasty Party Strikes Again!

Hat tip to Alex for this!
Some free advice to David Cameron, as he likes to think of himself as a Tory Blairite! In the Labour Party, if an MP, MEP, MSP,Councillor etc.. said this, their career would be over! The Conservatives can say that this is the voice of the Tory Past, but when a prominent Tory MP says this and fails to apologise and is not disciplined, then it is the voice of the present!

But Ruth Kelly equality minister called for an honest debate about immigration and multi-culturalism?

Do I detect some facetiousness from you Prague?
Yes there should be an honest debate, but as an MP, Bob Spink should remember he should give a mature example of how one should conduct themselves in such a debate!

I thought he was sending a private e-mail not having a debate.

Even so, it says a lot about him!

I think calling Bob Spink "prominent" is a bit of a stretch....

But I agree Paul, it's not the kind of statement that should go un-noticed. Now, if his statement is true, surely the constructive thing to do is to engage in Ruth Kelly's open debate about why this is the case.

If it is true, I do agree with an open debate but what I think you ought to realise, is that many left leaning or center leaning people have a genuine suspicion that a small but significant amount of Tory grassroots members are racist and unpleasant people hiding behind a cover of respectability. Bob Spink's language does not quell those suspicions!
