According to today's Independent newspaper, Guido Fawkes is on a list of Top 50 Powerful media people.
Now much as I get irritated by Guido's attacks on the government, he is what I call an Uber Blogger. However he was the only one mentioned which I think was interesting considering that Kerron Cross-The Voice of the Delectable Left, Bloggers4Labour , Recess Monkey, Antonia's blog , Fisking Central , Cllr Miranda Grell , Labourhome , Luke's blog , Iain Dale's Diary, Prague Tory , Ellee Seymour , A Liberal Goes a Long Way , and Paul Linford all seem to have a large following!
Hmm, I feel an Iain Dale-style list coming to the front of my mind here, what do you think!

Interesting that you have to say they "seem to" have a large following because, of course, we can't know.
You can extrapolate from the fact that a person has more comments than another that they have more viewers but there is no equivalent of newspapers' ABC circulation figures.
blogtopsites claims to provide that sort of information, but I don't entirely trust their statistics (which might just be because I don't know how they are calculated)
I wonder if some sort of facility will emerge.
I base it on three factors.
One if they get widely quoted accross the blogosphere. Two, if they are mentioned in some detail in the national media. Three, not just their hits but also the amount of comments left on their pages. If two of those three work then I think they are an Uber Blogger
You both seem to be forgetting a little initiative called: Iain Dale's Top Bloggers List! :-)
I did see another good survey that measured Technorati incoming links, as well as the number of Bloglines subscribers. Perhaps these counts are more authoritative than sites that simply (attempt to) record traffic.
The uber-blogger's influence needs to extend beyond the blogosphere. 100 to 500 readers a day is not enough to call yourself a uber-blogger
A uber-blogger isn't an aggregator or a portal and probably needs to average four posts a day. The uber-blogger needs a personality/style that connects with readers quickly which rules out ConservativeHome and LabourHome.
From the list, Iain Dale is a uber-blogger and in my opinion Devil's Kitchen and Recess Monkey are the closest to joining the ranks. In the context of blogging, political ambition is a double-edged sword.
I don't find it surprising that only one blogger is named amongst the top 50 most powerful media people at this stage and that is probably true. I suspect a similar list next year would contain Dale's name and possibly one other.
Yes, Iain should certainly have been there too. There is a big gulf between the top bloggers like those two and us lesser mortals - though many thanks for your kind words - I do wonder what will happen when Tories run government, it is so much fun blogging from opposition, that's what gives us a powerful voice.

Perhaps Andrew, but mentions in the national press help a lot towards making someone an Uber Blogger.
Prague I get your point but it also depends on how widely known an individual blogger is!
Ellee you get a lot of responses on your blog, hence fitting into my own criteria. Just a pity you are in the wrong Party. You are right, opposition is fun, but so is government. They used to say that the Conservatives were most comfortable in government and Labour in opposition, maybe it's the other way around now ;)
