Charles Clarke on Gordon Brown

(Press Association)
Yesterday's interview with Charles Clarke in The Independent made an interesting read, esp when he suggests David Miliband would make a good Prime Minister, but neatly sidesteps the suggestion of supporting Gordon Brown.

Thing is, I agree we need a leadership election, that we need a debate, but I am sure I can be forgiven for questioning the motives behind what Milburn and Clarke are doing.

The whole issue and lack of transparent honesty just shows a degree of cowardice and a lack of respect from the electorate. If you want someone substantial to challenge Gordon, just say so or shut up and stop behaving like a pair of stereotypical politicians!
