Great news :), and what is even better is that his kidnappers have gained nothing!

If believe his kidnappers have nothing to do with Hamas, then yes - they gained nothing.
Well I think the connection there is loose at best. My understanding is that he was kidnapped by a local "family" who have no real interest in the Israel/Palestine issue and that Hamas dealt with them head-on because they were an embarrasment. That is not without taking into account that Hamas are a dodgy group!
Apart from thousands, nee maybe millions of pounds of free publicity.
Their Hamas co travellers ( those nice people who throw people out of high buildings and cut the throats of surrendering fellow Palestinian fighters as the surrender ) have gained the publicity they wanted also.
As Bias BBC points out - haven't heard the BBC go on about the 5 kidnapped British citizens in Iraq or the kidnapped Israeli soldiers. ( Hamas send out press releases saying he really needs medical attention you know - this is who they really are.)
How do we know the terrorists have gained nothing ? We used to say we didn't deal with terrorists, but John Major and Tony Blair proved that was wrong.
