Irving and Griffin sliming their way to the Oxford Union
I get Tim's point and in some respects agree with him, I even appreciate the argument that we do not want to make martyrs out of these people. But what sticks in my throat is the thought that by simply inviting them to the Oxford Union you are giving these people kudos because they can simply mention that fact on their profiles and websites etc..

Completely agree and have commented about this myself. Just because someone has freedom of speech doesn't mean we should be inviting them to exercise that freedom.
But the fact is that concerns about Islam and immigration have reached a point - and been so incompetently handled by Labour and Tories - that people are becoming curious about other sides of the argument.
I wonder why nobody on the left seems interested in blogging about the disgraceful behaviour of the far left towards Oxford Union and the debaters (regardless of whether you agree with them or not)
You mean like this, Paul?

I get your point, but there is always that option and always that threat of it happening
