Much has been made of this, and it has appeared in various reports. I sometimes wonder whether it is a ruse by Corbyn's office so as to try and get people to lay off having a go at him, but I think that Corbyn will hang on until there is an approved successor ready and waiting in the wings. That in itself shows a flaw. Many who are critical of Corbyn, or who have left the Labour Party with the recent problems, will not come back simply because there is a new leader, and certainly not if approved by Corbyn, or indeed if it is any current high profile Shadow Cabinet member. It is also the moral decline and the changes of the culture and policies within Labour that has repelled people and until that changes, things will remain the same.
