Theresa May and Extensions

The Prime Minister may be keen not to have a long extension on Article 50 and I can see her point. To a certain point I agree with her in so far about a long extension undermining public trust. But a longer extension than three months is needed. The period of time for an extension should be long enough for Parliament to work together on a deal, something the PM is not doing so well, and for there to be a public vote on it, with due care taken on the questions posed.
But more needs to be done, the causes of Brexit involve a deep cultural divide within the UK and different ideas about what sort of country Britain should be with few listening to each other. Something needs to be done about that and that will take time. Brexit may be resolved one way or another, but the wounds inflicted will take a while to heal
