German Foreign Minister: Europe "Cannot Completely Rely on White House!"

That is blindingly obvious, however for Heiko Maas to openly say that, and he would not have done so without Angela Merkel's support, shows just how bad the current situation is. It also means that American influence, coupled with the current trade wars, is severely diminished for the time being and that countries are forming new alleigances. At the moment the new emerging western dominating spheres of influence seem to be Canada, France, and Germany. How things will pan out as a result, time will tell, but Trump's successor will have his or her work cut out in repairing broken bridges should that President wish to mend relations
