1 Chronicles Ch 14 Vs 1-7, tells of the King of Tyre sending materials to Jerusalem so that a palace is built for King David, and then David knew God had made him King over all of Israel. When a King had such gestures made from neighbouring countries, it said much about his prestige and power.
But it is clear. All the blessings, the Kingship, the wives, the no of children, the wealth, all of that came from God. David did not forget that, nor his background as a boy tending sheep for his father. God may not bless us with wealth and power, wives and children.
